Hi, my name is Jillian, and Competition is one of my Top 5.
When I look at others, I am instinctively aware of their performance and I often use these performances as my benchmark. Using these benchmarks, I work extremely hard in order to outperform the rest and be the best.
This is actually very evident in my studies. I’m always striving to come in first by measuring my progress against my classmates and eventually pushing myself to surpass them. I constantly find myself measuring and comparing. Scores and results help me to measure and know where I stand against others. When I can compare, I can compete. And if I can compete, I can win. And winning brings me tremendous satisfaction.
As I love winning, I love contests because all contests produce a winner. I tend to select the ones where I have a higher chance of winning. I compete simply to win; hence, I don't actively take part in contests where winning seems unlikely. I've also been playing competitive sports for the past nine years. Using my Competition theme, I train and push myself very hard to be better so that I'll have that winning edge.
My Competition theme also drives me to motivate some of my teammates to work hard so that we can win at tournaments. I derive a sense of achievement when I see my team grow and develop a culture of winning together. It's very important to me that we work hard and win as a team.
There was this netball game where we were neck-to-neck with the opposing team. Whenever we tried to get an edge, they would even out the score. My Competition theme made me very determined to win the game. And in the end, we won by one point.
I really love this Competition theme as it perpetually challenges me to train and study hard. With Competition, you can count on me to push the team to be the best.
