Hi, my name is Estella, and I'm an Includer. I always look out for those who are quiet or alone and I naturally group them together. I love the challenge of getting to know someone who doesn't really talk a lot and making them feel comfortable in a new environment.
Being an Includer is about expanding the circle such that everyone is included and no one is forgotten. I get excited when I see people who are naturally quiet or alone join in the group and open up. I love the sight of seeing them smile and enjoying themselves. There is a sense of accomplishment within me that says, "good job."
Growing up in a mixed family, I learned to interact with and appreciate all races and religions. I enjoy embracing people who are different from me. And I love how our national pledge says that regardless of race, language, or religion, we're all the same and we're all part of a bigger community. My friends tell me that I'm good at making people feel comfortable to be around with or to talk to. I think that I'm good at converting awkward situations into positive conversations and encouraging people to be part of the talk.
My Includer theme comes out in class when we're asked to create groups for group projects. I instinctively find people who are left out or are supposedly outcast. When everyone is in their own cliques or with their friends, my Includer theme comes in to initiate conversations and bring new people into the talk. I tend to make horrible jokes to loosen the tension because I desire everyone to be comfortable enough to have a say in the project or idea.
Overall, my Includer theme allows everybody to be themselves around others. You can count on me to widen the group circle.
