Hi, my name is Matthew, and I'm a Relator. When I think about Relator and what it means to me, I will always recall meals with my friends, or moments just spent with them talking.
As a Relator, I enjoy spending 1-on-1 time with my trusted friends or in a group setting with them. In these conversations, it is always very natural for me to ask questions and go beyond the superficial level. I have an innate desire to know more about my close friends and likewise, to share the same about myself.
My fondest memory and moments of school would be the times that I spent studying with my close friends. These times bring me great joy and motivates me to study harder and to push my friends to do the same. As a Relator, studying with my close friends helps me to be more effective. But more importantly, these moments are platforms and opportunities for the relationship to grow in depth and understanding.
Sometimes, as a Relator, I tend to be more reserved, especially in new environments. Even in comfortable settings, I would naturally tend to gravitate towards familiar faces. Thus, it is very easy for me to be misunderstood as "unapproachable" and "exclusive" because of my desire to want to know more about my close friends.
As a Relator, I do not necessarily relate well to everyone, but I do have natural ability to grow deep in the relationships that matter to me to build loyal and trusting friendships.
While friendships can easily drift apart due to circumstances, you can always rely on a Relator to keep the friendships lasting.
